Eric Buron - Founder

My younger sister, Anne Marie, moved to Rwanda in 2019. I came for a visit in December 2020 on a one way ticket and fell in love with the country and the people. Working with our team at Turabizo over the past 3.5 years has been one of the most meaningful and impactful experiences of my life.

As Founder, I have been directly involved in all aspects of the company, including occasionally cutting the grass by hand. I’ve helped in designing our space, programs, and systems and funding our first several years. Currently, I am primarily leading development.

In the spring of 2024, we launched our first revenue-based projects and our team is making excellent strides toward self-sufficiency and sustainable operations. As we grow and expand, we deeply appreciate any boost of support. We are holding onto a beautiful vision as we make our way day to day.

I’m a Minnesota native, the third of four siblings, raised by a single Mom. In 2013, I graduated with a BFA in Drama from the Atlantic Acting School through New York University. Previous work includes North American Tour Assistant for Hannah Gadsby, Director of Operations at MakersFinders, Customer Communications at Lido, and Scooper at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

My sincere appreciation to everyone in my life, family and friends, who have supported me, our team, and our kids over the course of this journey. My heart is forever changed by the people of Rwanda. I love you more than words can express.
